What is sublimation?
Sublimation heat transfer technology enables you to decorate and personalise selected products that contain a high polyester content or surface coating. The printed sublimation ink transfer is activated by heat and pressure at approx 190-200ºC when it becomes gas-like and penetrates the polyester surface of the item. The ink molecules revert to a solid state upon cooling. Sublimation dyes are not opaque and therefore the printable items need to be white or a pastel colour.
TheMagicTouch (G.B.) Ltd are authorised distributors of ArTainium®+ sublimation inks from Sawgrass Technologies, world leaders in this unique process. These include cartridges and pre-filled bulk ink options all supported with the relevant ICC Colour profiles for vivid colours.
Please note that the printing of 100% cotton and non-polyester coated items does not work with the sublimation transfer process. Please refer to TheMagicTouch toner-based image transfer process.
