Types of Consumables

1. Toner cartridges
   You’ve got the standard CMY (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow) plus White. The white toner is especially important for printing onto dark or coloured media, clear film, or doing transfers.

2. Image drums / Drum kits
   Each toner colour has a corresponding drum unit. The drums transfer the toner onto the media and are essential for print quality. Over time they wear out or get damaged, which affects sharpness or produces artifacts.

3. Other parts

   • Transfer belt: Moves or transfers the image from the drum(s) to the media. It has a long lifespan, but when worn it can cause issues like misalignment or loss of image fidelity.

   • Fuser unit: Once the toner has been applied, the fuser “fixes” it onto the media using heat. Worn fusers can result in smudging or toner not being properly fixed.
