Direct to Film transfers involve printing designs onto a special PET film using dedicated water-based DTF inks and then applying a powder adhesive. This prepared transfer is cured and then heat pressed onto the final garment. The result is a soft-feel, full-colour transfer that’s durable, stretchy, and works on a variety of fabrics including cotton, polyester, and blends—without needing pre-treatment or complex setup. Unlike older technologies which often require separate machines or processes for white and colour inks, DTF printers can apply both in a single pass, ensuring vibrant, aligned prints every time. Plus, once the transfer is printed and powdered, it can be stored for later use or bulk pressed as needed.
